Addition of  Vectors

1.vector u = (-12 , 8) , vector w = ( 8 , -4). what is vector w + vector u?

2. vector u= (-3 , -4) , vector w= (-4 , -10), what is the sum of vector u and vector w?

3. Add the following vectors and determine its resultant. vector u = 3 units, vector w = 4 units. the angle in between the two vectors is 45 degrees.

4. Add the following vectors and determine its resultant. vector w = 16 units, vector u = 12 units. The angle in between the two vectors is 90 degrees.

5.  Calculate the resultant of the two vectors. vector u = 17, vector w = 28.

Subtraction of vectors

1. Vector u = (9 , 5) , vector w = (5 , 4). What is the value of vector u – vector w?

2. Vector u = (-3 , -6) , vector w = (-2 , -1).  what is vector w – vector u?

3. Find vector a – vector b. Given that vector a = 5 meters , vector b = 7 meters and the angle between both vectors is 55 degrees.

4. Find the value of vector u – vector w. Given that vector u is 6 meters and vector w being 3 meters. The angle in between the two vectors is 150 degrees

Multiplication of vectors by a scalar value

2. vector a = = ( -4 , -7 ) , vector -4a = ?

3. vector u = ( -3 , 1 ) , vector w = ( 5 , -3 ). what is the value of vector -2u – vector 3w?

4. Calculate the resultant of vector 4a and vector 2b. Given that vector a = 4 meters and vector b = 5 meters. The angle between the two given vectors is 45 degrees.

5. Find the value of vector 3u – vector 2w. Given that vector u = 5 and vector w = 3. The angle between the two given vectors is 55 degrees.
